In no particular order I wanted to share my top ten selections for achieving both healthy, dewy, skin and simple makeup for those hot summer nights! I own most of these products and some are highly raved about products that am thinking about purchasing.1. Every gal has got to protect her youthful skin from aging against the harmful UV rays even if you’re not basking on the beach! Dermatologists and beauty experts say that even in a sky of complete cloudiness one should still apply sunscreen. Just because it looks like there’s no sun doesn’t mean there isn’t one in the sky! I chose this Shiseido spf not only for the cool looking tube (lol no really though..) but apparently it’s a nourishing lotion not only for the face but for the body! It’s packed with protective ingredients, giving it the 60++ power so you know it’s doing the job. Sadly I don’t own this yet because I’m mostly indoors for summer and since sunscreen expires by the end of the summer, I can’t force myself to buy it A) for the pricetag and B) because I won’t use it as much! Sephora values it at $39 online but I’m sure you can find it at other higher end department stores. 2. Sometimes the smallest of things make the biggest difference and impact like this nude colored eyeliner by Pixi. I picked this up at Target (not on sale) for $17. That’s the average price I’ve seen it on shelves but I’m sure it can sell for a couple dollars less too. Why do you need a skin, salmon colored eyeliner? One of the biggest tips I’ve picked up from magazines is that by lining your lower waterline with a liner the same as your skin tone, it will make your eyes look more awake! Since I’m Asian I need all the ‘awakeness’ I can get..haha I PROMISE it makes a huge difference in pictures! 3. I call my Urban Decay palette Old Faithful. When in doubt that I have no clue what to slab on my eyelids I turn to my Naked girlfriend! Sooooo many possibilities and neutral color combinations, how can you go wrong? I’ve had Naked for years since its first release (and have yet to buy Naked2) and it’s hard to tell if I’ve made a dent in a single color! Seriously folks you get so much product for your money’s worth AND it comes with either a makeup brush OR a dual ended black&brown eyeliner. Mine came with the eyeliner because I purchased it at Ulta. For summer looks you never want to look TOO overdone and this is the perfect option for being casual, chic 😀 4. MAC makes many things wonderfully well and that includes their lustre drops! What are lustre drops you might add? Lustre drops are a highlighting, light reflecting liquid product that comes in a little tube used for defining the areas on your face (or body) that you want to bring light to. I love these little suckers moreso for highlighting the cheeks, closeby to the eyes. I’ve seen others put it on the bridge of their nose as a highlighting property as well. If you wanted to dab it onto your clavicle on a nice, sexy night your skin would GLOW. Hurry up and get it at MAC counters. $15. 5. Upon creating the perfect summer face I didn’t know whether to add a lipstick or gloss into the big picture. I settled on a lipstain because it adds just the right amount of color and dimension whatever the weather is in your summery area! I’ve never tried this one in particular from Vincent Longo but I’m sure reviewers on makeupalley love him to death. I have a lipstick from Vincent and love that his products are so pigmented and creamy! If you prefer a cheaper alternative Revlon makes some good drugstore lip products as well as Benefit’s Benetint. Now for Benetint you can use it on your cheeks to as well for that perfect, just bitten look! 6. Maybelline’s instant age rewind concealer is highly coveted by beauty junkies alike for its patented sponge-like, foam tip applicator upon applying concealer or foundation. My cousin owns this and she continues to use it for all her looks. If you’re in a rush at the very least you should get a concealer that will work for you. Now these aren’t flying off the shelves, not particularly *new* but I can’t wait to try this! This is a great beauty buy for the summer because it hides dark, undereye circles while warding off aging properties from daily activity! Me LOVES anything that will keep me in my twenties for a bit longer ;P 7. The Balm’s Bahama Mama is a matte bronzer that I bought at TJMaxx. If you didn’t know that Marshalls and TJMaxx had makeup then girl, best go look! (On a side note too the Balm’s Frat boy blush is amazing too). I wear bronzer year round but it depends on the mood I’m in for shimmery or matte bronzer. I chose this matte bronzer for my summer pick because if you read my rant on MAC lustre drops you’ll see it’s all about balance. If you opt for a liquid and shimmery, metallic highlighter then it only makes sense to add a matte bronzer to the mix. If you put two types of shimma shimma on that area of your face with such close proximity, the tendency is for the products to get lost and jumbled all together. 8. Take the day off with an English imported skincare brand that you trust. You may not be familiar with Boots No. 7 but they are exclusively sold at Targets across America. (Not sure if they have a self standing store but you can for sure find it at the red bullseye!) I was impressed with these cleansing and refreshing makeup wipes in just one use! Not only does it not dry out your skin but gets off every trace of makeup. And if you’re coming home from a late night luau perhaps, then be lazy and grab this before you hit the sheets! The price is right too because for just $3.99 you get all the regular effects of a normal makeup wipe plus added exfoliation and repair properties. 9. In my book Blinc is so underrated for what it is. I feel like people think it’s some unheard of makeup brand from a tv infomercial selling commercial turned attempting to reach mass market at Sephoras. I’ve always been aware of Blinc but just never thought twice about it. Makeupbyleinnababy on YouTube swears by Blinc masacara nowadays because it’s one of the few brands whose primer and masacara ACTUALLY work hand in hand. I can’t speak for Diorshow but on the occassion I tried their masacara alone I wasn’t impressed. Blinc on the other hand, makes your lashes longer and defined over several times of using their eye product. When my masacaras run out I can’t wait to go out and buy Blinc because it works on Asian eyes the best!! $26 each on their website. 10. Rounding out the top ten is Dior’s Hydralife BB cream. I tried a sample size of this (even though I had another BB cream brand at the time) because I thought, why not…can’t hurt? Post opening the tiny, squeezable tube I canNOT get it outta my mind. It covers all the imperfections, light blemishes, and discoloration so evenly on my face without looking like I caked on foundation! I never knew a BB cream could be a magical worker but this renewed my faith in Dior! Granted it was a bit drying but nothing a little daily face moisturizer can’t fix! The tiniest grapesize amount is all you need to dot on your T-zone. I’m a BB girl for LIFE now yeahhh all day, everyday! $56 at Sephora..OUCH.
I feel like that title post is the story of my life right now. As much stuff as I have from accumulating shopping trips do I have events to go to? No…guess I’ll just have a fancy soiree in my room. Everyone’s invited! Bahahahahahahaha
Lately I’ve been craving a purple suit or rather, violet suit and this one’s from Rachel Zoe! I have yet to own anything from her line since she turned stylist to designer. Preen has a richer, hue of purple suit that I would die for! Course all finer fabrics come at a price $_$
To top off such a statement color I wanted to keep the accessories minimal. I just ordered a ribbon necklace off of Hautelook like the one shown here! (Except mines red/ coral/ orange family not black). But I am loving this CC Skye kinda bulletted gold necklace. I got the Monique Lehsman necklace for a steal! $33.
And since we can’t walk around barefoot I googled Fendi platform heels and thought these peeptoes would go nicely. I am all about the hidden sexiness and unexpected details and I love the inverted FF symbol by the toe box! The artwork around the heel is divine as well, resembles a hot, fiery rainbow!
Hey girlies! I hope you take my reviews to heart as this is from one working girl to another lol. I’m sure you all have seen this new facial hair removal duo on the market because they have heavily mass advertised this on tv, Walmart, Target, and other drugstores.
I bought mine at Wal-mart I believe when it was newly pushed in promotions and such. I forget the exact amount but it was around $27ish on sale (which is still not that cheap). I was intrigued to try this because I’m always looking for innovative methods that make stripping off upper lip hair less painful. Sorry if that’s TMI but there is nothing short of TMI when it comes to Olay hair removal.
Just to give you a background on my hair density and preferred hair removal method, I’ve never waxed my upper lip. I am thinking about having it threaded for the first time sometime this summer though! Me IS scared. So anyways…I don’t have that “thick” of facial hair. Yeah it may be a tad more noticeable than most because I have black hair but’s it’s nothing outrageous.
Olay ‘tries’ to make this easy for you but providing just two simple steps. If the tiny print on the side of the box (mixed with French) is any indication, it’s a lot longer than it looks. Basically you’re supposed to prep your skin by applying the guarding balm to the areas you want to treat. Ummm…you want to treat the area with hair so apply it everywhere around your lip? LOL
After you do that it says to “massage” that balm with your fingertips for 20 seconds. Wow how precise. This part didn’t really do much for me so I wouldn’t worry about it. Now the fun and vital part of the hair removal process. Remove your hair with a grape size removal of the provided cream. Now I don’t eat grapes too frequently so it’s hard to imagine which size they’re referring to.
I just slathered on every millimeter section where the balm was! It said to do this immediately with a thick layer. (Not a problem for me because everything I do is overabundance!) Wash your hands for hygenic purposes then sit and wait for the magic to happen.
The box timer specifies to leave on the frothy, white, milky, mustache for 6-8 minutes..but no longer than 10! <
The end! Times up and just wipe it off with a tissue. As for the results I didn’t see any drastically different, spotless areas but I guess in pictures it’ll pick up then? It’s a little weird because my only reaction was a day or two after the process. My upper lip would start to feel like the pores where the hair was once was chemically reacting and “bubbling” on my skin? Don’t wanna take any chances but I think it’s safe to say that’s fine?
HAHA don’t get warded off guys it really wasn’t anything just a random thing! Let me know if anyone else has experienced this or I’m just imagining the “boiling/ bubbling” effect.
BOTTOM LINE: I WOULD NOT REPURCHASE THIS BECAUSE OF THE STEEP PRICE, NOT SO LONG LASTING RESULTS, WEIRD SCIENTIFIC/ CHEMICAL OCCURANCE. YOU ARE BETTER OFF JUST TWEEZING WHAT YOU CAN OR GETTING THEM THREADED!EHHH GIVE IT A C+ FOR TRYING NEW AND REVOLUTIONARY THINGS!
If you read my last blog post on what to wear to a graduation as an attendee you’re in for a treat! Tonight I wanted to comment on a cute and classic look fit for any graduate no matter the age level. Let’s start from the top.
For the hair I wanted to keep it simple and I love a beehive hair style because not only does it give you height, it’s elegant and so 1950s! Just be careful putting on and off your cap :p
I chose a sophisticated color combination that is timeless and age appropriate for all! A strapless, black and white gingham printed dress with a black sash keeps the focus on YOU!
The accessories is the fun part. I’ve always dreamt what it would feel like to wear Chanel jewelry and doubling up cascading Chanel pearls with the iconic C’s is a grand statement! All eyes are on you so why not LOOK the part?
Betsey Johnson makes darling accessories and my faves of hers are the rings! You can find both of these statement rings at Macy’s. Not only do the colors compliment each other but they’re in the same leopard family!
Lastly the shoes. I stumbled across these Pour La Victoire sideways stacked heel in a neutral color. So from the front it looks like any adorable peeptoe but turn sideways and you’ll be getting looks like you were Lady Gaga. I can’t get over how different and unexpected these shoes are combined with the overall style! Thoughts?
“Fashions fade but style remains the same…”- I forget who said that but I’m pretty sure it was YsL or Coco Chanel or one of those Parisian ladies! No it’s not the host of NBC’s Fashion Star…but when I think of who I look to for fashion inspiration there are a glamorous few. I used to think eclectic style meant weird color combinations that were for the “retro” ones. But now I embrace my eclecticity because I love combining prints, colors, and patterns!
The five FABulous ladies I chose that made the cut do just that. Their style is eternal (in my book) and they always mix high, couturier looks with lower-ended fashion. They’re a bit chameleon-ic if you will; like me! 😀 Especially that Camilla Belle girl who you’re all probably wondering, ‘Who’s that chick?’
1. Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen. Have always adored their styling (and books, videos, interior collections when I was little) and you can always find them front row!
2. Jennifer Lopez. Come on she was on Extra! top 10 fashionable icons as their number one spot so that speaks for herself. But no, I’ve also looked up to her as a multi-cultural mogul and she’s just so sexy!
3. Rihanna. Not the old “Umbrella” RiRi but moreso Louder cover and beyond. She can pull off any hair color, music, and still stays true to where she came from.
4. Sarah Jessica Parker. She had me at her first pair of Blahniks. I love how untamed her natural, curly hair is and can wear any crazy or classic thing and still look normal. And that to-die-for wedding dress in the first SATC movie? Yum. Vivienne Westwood + fascinator!
5. Camilla Belle. Not the greatest actress on the Western hemispher but hey, whatever gets you noticed by Karl Lagerfeld! Maybe I like that we share the same name or maybe it’s the stature. But either way she’s mature for her age and looks fantastic in Dior!
The above promo image is of the movie set to release in a few short weeks! If you are not familiar with ROA, sorry for party rockin’! JK hahaha but all jokes aside..I’m pumped because my mom and I have tickets to see the broadway musical in Chicago 🙂 Nope, not New York but Chi-town! When I asked my aunt which musicals were showing in the Windy City she said this one. I really had my eye on Evita but that wasn’t showing 😦 Post living in New York I’ve been dying to see the Rock musical ever since!
Now I have the chance and I’m pretty sure I’ll be clueless the whole time they’re singing 80’s beats but that’s OKAY! What I lack in eighties culture I’m sure someone will be jiving in the theater seats. But do you know what I’m MORE excited about than previewing the musical? Putting my edgy rocker spin on something floral! Feast your eyes on my outfit I plan to style for the return of classic rock and turn up that Aerosmith! BD

A part of me is reminiscing about my Winter graduation; I think it’s all those happy times we all so longingly hold onto. For those of you who are graduating or will be graduating in the near future, not to fret! Cos I created a little Polyvore- type look of sorts of what yours truly will be wearing to my little cousin’s impending graduation.
Things to keep in mind if YOU are not the one graduating:
1. It is not your day and beware because the graduate may be bridezilla.
2. Dress down, but not too down! Think daytime cocktail party.
3. Wear shoes to withstand long periods of time. But if you’re like me, to hell with that and still wear heels!
4. It would be nice to coordinate outfits for photos?
5. If the school you are at is your alma mater then feel free to represent your colored school, patriotic spirit!

March 24 was a glorious spring day in quiet, old Macon. Cherry blossoms were blooming, Mustangs were revving up their engines, alligators were snapping, and pet dogs were walking the catwalk. Yep, I said it. Chic Camille is reporting about a pet fashion show. Veronica Corningstone would be proud.
Except this pet runway show took place not in sunny San Diego, California, but on a Coca~Cola entertainment stage sponsored within Miller Lite’s sponsored park.
Working closely with PAWS for a Cause and FURever Friends the hot day was a success! I think you’ll have a few laughs and smiles upon browsing these pet-friendly photos. Which dog is your favorite? And in your opinion, who would you crown as top dog?
Hello fellow fashionistas! So I know this is a couple months late BUT I just now got decent pictures to show ya from the international Cherry Blossom capital’s annual Fashion show! This year it was all about “Diamonds & Pearls..Blossoms & Twirls.” I know in years past they did a little red dress theme and other very girly, feminine ones.
Exactly one week before my birthday I was beyond excited to have a helping hand in my first fashion show! Dare I say it was the highlight of my internship with the festival? :X The show took place at the Goodwill Anderson conference center in one of their renovated conference rooms. The guests in attendance were not your typical high brow socialites but more so ladies who lunch lol. I counted a whopping 500 seat capacity sold out show!
But I just adored seeing all the tweed-like Chanel suits and Kentucky Derby overdone hats. Needless to say I was swarming in a sea of pink! I also had the chance to work with local tastemaker, Mark Ballard, who writes in the lifestyle section of the Telegraph newspaper. He is a man in a class all his own and a riot! Artist, cook, presenter, writer, are just a few of his many talents! Mark hosted the mid-day event and was great at that, might I add.
Some other small town celebs who arrived were the Macon mayor and his wife and daughter, Carolyn Crayon, the founder of the Cherry Blossom Festival, news anchorman for 13WMAZ, the pink poodles, and Ms. Betty Ragland who is actually a UGA FACS alumn! GO DAWGS WHOOT!
Big thanks as always to media sponsors, key volunteers (who tied those darn backs of chairs 100 bows onto), Dillards, Chico’s, Belk, White House Black Market for their donation of clothes for the show and models!
The time has come for the British invasion to come to a close with Laura (Team USA) and Sophie (Team UK) to battle it out. I’m personally rooting for Sophie because she deserves it more for all her struggles in London and oh yeah, she LOOKS like a model. Laura on the other hand, patriotism aside, I felt like just wanted it in the end when she started getting great feedback from the panel of judges. I can’t wait to see who wins because the contestants are actually close friends and there’s a never-been-done-before FOREVER XXI fashion show! HOLLA at ya girl’s FAVE trendy store to shop at B) Lookin’ at you West Coast mavens!
ANYhoot. That runway walk is sure not to disappoint because I can’t wait to see what Macau fashion sense pulls outta their hats. Courtesy of CW here are some pictures of the runner’s up in their final challenge and Covergirl ad shoot!
