Last night I was going through some camera pix and noticed I forgot to add these! So sorry D: I know how much it is killing you all. But at least you’ll get to see me in one of them! Indulge because it’s a fantastic Friday in June!!!
March 24 was a glorious spring day in quiet, old Macon. Cherry blossoms were blooming, Mustangs were revving up their engines, alligators were snapping, and pet dogs were walking the catwalk. Yep, I said it. Chic Camille is reporting about a pet fashion show. Veronica Corningstone would be proud.
Except this pet runway show took place not in sunny San Diego, California, but on a Coca~Cola entertainment stage sponsored within Miller Lite’s sponsored park.
Working closely with PAWS for a Cause and FURever Friends the hot day was a success! I think you’ll have a few laughs and smiles upon browsing these pet-friendly photos. Which dog is your favorite? And in your opinion, who would you crown as top dog?
Hello fellow fashionistas! So I know this is a couple months late BUT I just now got decent pictures to show ya from the international Cherry Blossom capital’s annual Fashion show! This year it was all about “Diamonds & Pearls..Blossoms & Twirls.” I know in years past they did a little red dress theme and other very girly, feminine ones.
Exactly one week before my birthday I was beyond excited to have a helping hand in my first fashion show! Dare I say it was the highlight of my internship with the festival? :X The show took place at the Goodwill Anderson conference center in one of their renovated conference rooms. The guests in attendance were not your typical high brow socialites but more so ladies who lunch lol. I counted a whopping 500 seat capacity sold out show!
But I just adored seeing all the tweed-like Chanel suits and Kentucky Derby overdone hats. Needless to say I was swarming in a sea of pink! I also had the chance to work with local tastemaker, Mark Ballard, who writes in the lifestyle section of the Telegraph newspaper. He is a man in a class all his own and a riot! Artist, cook, presenter, writer, are just a few of his many talents! Mark hosted the mid-day event and was great at that, might I add.
Some other small town celebs who arrived were the Macon mayor and his wife and daughter, Carolyn Crayon, the founder of the Cherry Blossom Festival, news anchorman for 13WMAZ, the pink poodles, and Ms. Betty Ragland who is actually a UGA FACS alumn! GO DAWGS WHOOT!
Big thanks as always to media sponsors, key volunteers (who tied those darn backs of chairs 100 bows onto), Dillards, Chico’s, Belk, White House Black Market for their donation of clothes for the show and models!
The time has come for the British invasion to come to a close with Laura (Team USA) and Sophie (Team UK) to battle it out. I’m personally rooting for Sophie because she deserves it more for all her struggles in London and oh yeah, she LOOKS like a model. Laura on the other hand, patriotism aside, I felt like just wanted it in the end when she started getting great feedback from the panel of judges. I can’t wait to see who wins because the contestants are actually close friends and there’s a never-been-done-before FOREVER XXI fashion show! HOLLA at ya girl’s FAVE trendy store to shop at B) Lookin’ at you West Coast mavens!
ANYhoot. That runway walk is sure not to disappoint because I can’t wait to see what Macau fashion sense pulls outta their hats. Courtesy of CW here are some pictures of the runner’s up in their final challenge and Covergirl ad shoot!
